One of a kind

Seated Study, Patinated Bronze, France c.1935

Lost-wax cast with a warm brown patina, unsigned, on a stepped Belgian black marble base. The modelling is confident and unfussy — the hands are barely resolved and were plainly never meant to be. A small casting flaw on the reverse of the left shoulder has been left as it is.
